June 03 8 yearsI like to rhyme and sing all the time.
This is a tribute to my man...he's so fine!!
Fireside room, lattes in June
dinner for two at my favorite Thai food
holding your hand while butterflies swam
A change of hairstyle, a walk down the aisle
We've had our ups and our downs, a trip to the pound
Bags of cherries, Easter at Sherri's
We've been upside down, we've seen the town
Road trips and fresh coffee to sip
A family fight at Epcot and a rehab with some dryrot
Locked out of the park, we've got serious sparks
Holding pinkies, breath that's stinky
Homework galore, 2 hr commute is how you roll
Long crys and airport goodbyes
Plans and dreams, interior design schemes
Paint dripping and basement living
Van camping and loud clapping
Writing songs, singing along
Sweet words from your dad, June allergies are bad
Yellow belts, forehead welts
She looks just like you, the word of the Lord is true
Water births, dealing with our hurts
Two beautiful boys, a floor full of toys
Priceless smiles, child rearing trials
Ear infections and soul inspections
Weekend walks, latenight talks
I look forward to....
Raising our boys, more struggles and joys
Traveling the earth, discovering His worth
Laughing with eachother, Computers with my brother
Raising the dead, choosing Him instead
White water rafting, saving girls from human trafficing
Cheek to cheek so to speak
Running along side, keeping our stride
Finishing well, we'll have stories to tell
You are the love of my life, I'm proud to be your wife!!!
May 24 Signs of LifeWe have been enjoying the birds nest David discovered in our back yard. He found it after pruning a tree. Most surprisingly was that is was only a few feet off the ground. First it had three small eggs of various pastel shade, beautifully speckled then it grew to five. Just last week the eggs hatched and now awkward birds have taken their place. Every time we go check on their progress the parent birds "dive bomb" us. Yesterday one of them finally made contact. They are getting bolder! It's amazing what the Lord can teach us through nature if we choose to listen. Like how He is protective of us the same way the mama bird is of her babies. And how when we are growing into something it can look awkward at first, but eventually with maturity we will take flight.
April 25 Onething Seattle/TacomaI highly encourage anyone in the Seattle/Tacoma area to attend the Onething conference May 2nd &3rd which will be taking place at a church in Tacoma. It will fascinate you with the person of Jesus and His purposes for your life. These people are the real deal. They are not interested in holding just another conference. They are contending for a breaking in of the Spirit so that lives will truly be transformed. And if we are honest...we all need that!) The worship is awesome too! Here's a link for free registration, http://www.ihop.org/Group/Group.aspx?ID=1000026703. April 07 Home Sweet HomeWe've been here for just about one month now and it’s starting to feel more like home. We love the community here at IHOP and like the area too. We've had a chance to reconnect with some of the friends we made here in the fall and look forward to developing more friendships too. It is a great environment for laid back fellowship. I've never been real comfortable in the hostess roll but here people don't care if you serve them grilled cheese. They are just happy to get together. I do need to work on my chicken though which always seems to come out dry!!!
We love our new home. One of the biggest challenges I've had since being here is how little storage we have. Not only is it significantly smaller but I don't have a pantry or linen closet. David to the rescue.... he lined our garage with shelving and put in a "food armoire". It's a little out of the way but I’m so grateful to have it. Fortunately our garage had enough space on both sides to accommodate. We feel like we've been in transition for the last year so it's so nice to settle in. We are not completely unpacked yet but should be finished soon.
The boys are doing great. Elijah has been thriving here and loves his "new home" as he calls it. He'll randomly shout "my new home" followed by a big smile or "bye new home" when we're pulling away. Judah is 9 months now and getting so big. He was 23 lbs last we checked and a great big smile to match his size. We call him "Biggie" because he has these beautifully full lips. He is our gentle, sensitive one.
David is working from home now and is able to spend the 2+ hours he spent commuting in the Prayer Room. One big surprise was that his good friend just moved his family here. Wallace and David have been close friends for 15 years but haven't lived near each other for the past 12. We all have those 1 or 2 people in our lives that are not only good friends but deep spiritual friends as well. Brooke is mine along with my sister but for David it is Regan and Wallace. I look forward to getting to know his wife and their three beautiful children. I will post pictures of the boys and the house soon. February 27 We're off!We finally go the approval to move to Kansas City! Next Tuesday, March 4th, we are flying down so that we can move into our home. We'll share more later.
Have a great day!
David January 01 A Look Back at an Amazing Year2007 was to be a year of Abundant Spiritual Blessings and Fulfillment. It was a huge year of blessings. Foremost our second son Judah was born on June 19th! He is such an incredible little boy and we love him so much.
The focus of 2007 was to move towards a Sermon on the Mount lifestyle and to posture ourselves as people who go before the LORD for our needs. What I didn't mention in the blog entry was that we felt that the big change that we had been anticipating in our lives for many years would actually take place. More specifically I felt that by the fall we were going to be living in a completely different region of the US. We had no idea where or how that would happen... but it did. Here is a look back at 2007, it's pretty amazing.
· In February Emily's parents and we went to Kansas City to IHOP for a conference. On the plane flight home Emily's parents and we independently decided to go to IHOP for an internship in the fall. · In March I told my manager at work that I need to move to Kansas City for 3.5 months. I expected to have to leave the company. He surprises me and asks me to find a way to stay. · In May I learn about the FMLA. I can take up to 12 weeks away from work and return. I need 17 weeks but I was able to find enough vacation time to make it work. That meant I would have medical coverage while in Kansas City! · On June 19th Judah David is born! Big brother Elijah calles him Judah Dayday. · In August we put our house up for sale. We planned to either move out of state or move right next to where I work in Bellevue. My commute is approximately 3 hours a day. That's a lot of time missed with the family. · Also in August we drive 3 days across the country to Kansas City. We move into awful apartments but they are across the street from the Prayer Room. · In October during the Intro to IHOP internship we decide to move Kansas City once the internship is over. Among other things this was after seeing the children at IHOP praying for people and actually getting healed. We want our boys to grow up on that type of atmosphere. · In November we decide to buy a bank owned house near the prayer room. · Later in November we get an offer on our house in Seattle! · In December we move back to Seattle and I return to work. · On December 27th our house in Seattle closes.
It was an amazing year. Now we are staying at Emily’s parents place while I look for a job I can do in Kansas City. Amazing huh? It was indeed a year of Abundant Spiritual Blessings and Fulfillment.
Praise the LORD!
